Since we first opened our doors serving the employees of SmithKline Corporation in 1977, now GlaxoSmithKline, we have been committed to exceeding our members’ expectations and maintaining financial strength through the delivery of high quality banking products, information, and service.

This commitment has always guided the strategic decisions we have made to ensure the strength and longevity of your credit union.  And for nearly 40 years, we have worked to guide our members toward lifelong financial well-being. But we couldn’t accomplish our Mission without embracing change as part of our culture.

We adopted a new name. Ardent Credit Union.

Ardent is a name that’s about passion. It reflects our spirit and drive to serve our members and connects us to our Philadelphia roots.  The name Ardent stands for everything banking should be—passionate, caring, and intensely devoted to the people we serve. We work hard to solve problems for each of our member’s unique needs and are always looking for ways to say yes. Our new name is reflective of our entire field of membership and our distinction as a financial institution as we expand to serve those who live, work, worship, volunteer, or go to school in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks, and Chester counties. 

And by working hard, making friends and solving problems—we’re building a reputation of showing up, helping out and getting things done. At Ardent, we push ourselves to deliver the kind of smart, affordable banking our members need and deserve. We don’t settle for average. And we don’t stop at not bad. We’re always looking for ways to say yes and we never quit when there’s still work to be done.
